As the oldest university in the English-speaking world, Oxford is a unique and historic institution. There is no clear date of foundation, but teaching existed at Oxford in some form in 1096 and developed rapidly from 1167, when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris.

The main subjects studied in the law course are: Sociology, political science, Introduction to Law, Legal Portuguese, Roman law, Juridical Psychology, Civil right, criminal law, Constitutional right, economic law, Labor Law, Administrative law

There is no consensus on when the law was invented.  However, it is increasingly accepted by scholars that the practice of stipulating norms of coexistence (foundation of Law) comes from prehistory, around ten thousand years ago, in the Neolithic period.  More precisely at the moment when man stopped being a hunter-gatherer to become sedentary and settled in one place, he created villages and became a farmer.  Thus, even before human beings developed writing, they felt the need to establish oral norms.  In the wake of human development and writing, Law as we know it takes shape in Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations, such as the Code of Hammurabi, 1800 BC.

The career in Law has several fields of activity.  Those who graduate from this course can choose to work in the various functions of a legal or law career, in addition to following the path of a professor or consultant. It is a traditional career, respected in the market, which can yield good salaries. The legal career is performed by bachelors in Law and access generally takes place through public examination.  The market is extremely competitive.  The same vacancy for prosecutor or judge, for example, is disputed by more than 200 people, and many candidates have been studying for years for the contest

The process of entering Oxford involves several parts, including a letter of motivation, letters of recommendation, and standardized tests (such as the SAT or ACT for undergraduates, or GRE or GMAT for graduate school).  Selection may also involve an interview with an examining board.  In addition, you must also provide documents such as a high school diploma (and graduation, in the case of postgraduate studies), academic transcripts, an identity document and a certificate of proficiency in English.
